Clean drinking water, effective recycling and a responsible approach towards valuable resources are key themes for the environmental technology shows organised by Messe München International. In 2012, lectures in the conference programme at IFAT in Munich included Mega Cities, Water Management, Phosphorus Recycling from Sewage Sludge, the Closed Substance Cycle and Waste Management Act and Waste-to-Energy.
In the UK, the waste management and recycling sector is growing, with more than 200,000 people employed in water supply, sewerage, waste & remediation activities at present. UK exports of machinery, technology and supplies for this area are on the rise, especially to high-growth markets such as India and China. The IFAT trade shows allow manufacturers of these products unprecedented exposure to top buyers from around the world.
